Introduction

Components in Cirkit Designer are linked to a default physical part. Therefore, after you have built your circuit, you can view a bill of materials for your circuit by clicking on the Bill Of Materials tab.

The bill of materials lists the parts in your circuit, as well as pricing, and a purchase link.

By default, Cirkit Designer attempts to provide purchase links to Digi-Key. However, if you would like to use a different distributor, you can select one from the Preferred Distributor dropdown.

Linking To A Physical Part

Let's say you want to override the default mapping of a Cirkit Designer part to physical supplier part. You can link to a new part through the Parts Explorer, which can be accessed either by clicking Edit on the bill of materials page or by clicking Edit Link to Supplier Part in the component properties panel.

With the Parts Explorer opened, we can begin to search for a part by name. For example, we'll search for a "Resistor 100 Ohm".

We can then apply additional filters to the search. For example, clicking on the Tolerance filter expands an overlay with filtering options. I'll select 5% and click Apply to add the filter.

After applying the filter, we see only resistors with 100 Ohms resistance and 5% tolerance in the results. Finally, we can click on Select Part to link this supplier part to our component.
